Admission of pupils into Pacelli School for the Blind is opened to all visually impaired children from any part of the world, irrespective of colour, creed and race. However, parents/guardians of the visually impaired person should visit the school and make necessary enquires before obtaining admission forms, completes and brings along on schedule interview date, with the intending student/ward. The interview which is usually conducted orally includes some practical test to determine the intellectual and mental ability of the candidate. The history of the child’s visual impairment is also required in writing.
If the child is eventually admitted, the following documents are required by the school, to be submitted by the child’s parent or guardian:
1. Photocopy of the child’s birth certificate.
2. Baptismal certificate of the child if a Catholic.
3. Two passport photographs of the child.
4. A file jacket.
5. Written history of the child’s visual problem with dates.
6. The child’s report card from his/her last school, if he/she has attended school before.
7. A letter from the Headmaster/Headmistress/Principal of the previous school.
8. A medical report of the health of the child, to be conducted in a hospital recommended by the school.
